Knowledge in Dialogue
Starting with the questions of today
Our point of departure is not a particular belief system, culture or religious identity. We begin with the questions, challenges and concerns that shape contemporary life.
-
How are technology and AI changing our understanding of what it means to be human?
-
What is consciousness — and can it be reduced to the brain?
-
How do we distinguish knowledge from belief and assumption?
-
What makes a human life meaningful?
-
What do we actually mean by progress?
-
What is our place within creation?
How We Got Here
The present has a history
Our ideas about science, religion, nature, society, progress and the human being have been shaped by centuries of historical and cultural development. Understanding the present therefore requires asking how we came to think this way.
Ways of Knowing
What can we know and how?
Empirical science has transformed our understanding of the physical world. Yet empirical methods are sometimes extended beyond their proper scope into the assumption that only what can be observed or measured can be considered real.
Questions of consciousness, meaning, value, subjective experience, transcendence and divinity invite us to examine this assumption — and to explore the possibilities and limits of different ways of knowing.
Begin with wisdom
Bringing knowledge traditions into dialogue
Not only studying Vedic knowledge
— but thinking with it.
Vedic and dharmic traditions have developed sophisticated approaches to knowledge, consciousness, human nature, ethics, causality, time, society and ultimate reality.
Tattva Academy brings these traditions into dialogue with modern science and with philosophical, historical and contemporary thought — allowing different ways of understanding reality to question, challenge and illuminate one another.
